Comparison
The Tally alternative for forms that go more than one place
Tally's free plan is unlimited forms and submissions under fair use, undercutting nearly everyone on headline price. WebForms trades that for a metered plan with conditional routing and a per-destination delivery log.
Tally is unusual in this category for leading with a genuinely generous free tier: unlimited forms, unlimited submissions, payments, signatures, file uploads and even webhooks and Zapier/Make integrations, all free as long as you stay within a fair-use policy that is not published as a hard number. For a huge share of use cases, that free tier is simply the best price available anywhere in this comparison.
The paid tiers (Pro at 20 EUR/month, Business at 65 EUR/month) unlock things adjacent to submissions rather than submission capacity itself - removing Tally branding, custom domains, partial-submission capture, form analytics and email notification customization. There is no conditional routing to different destinations based on field values, and no per-attempt delivery log for the integrations that are available.
WebForms is priced the opposite way: a monthly submission quota rather than an unlimited-but-fair-use free tier, in exchange for routing rules, five native destination types fanned out from one submission, and a delivery log recording exactly what happened at each one.
When to stay with Tally
Switching has a real cost. These are the cases where we would not bother.
- You want a genuinely free, unlimited plan with no submission ceiling to eventually hit, and can live within an unpublished fair-use policy.
- You want a lightweight, fast form builder with strong Notion and Airtable integrations out of the box.
- You want partial-submission capture (unfinished responses saved before a visitor submits), which Tally offers on Pro.
WebForms vs Tally
Capability by capability, then their published prices. Anything we quote for Tally was read off their own pricing page on the date shown, but prices change - check their pricing directly before deciding.
| Capability | WebForms | Tally |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A backend endpoint. You build and host the form yourself. | A hosted, lightweight form builder with a document-style editor. |
| Free tier | Metered monthly submission quota. | Unlimited forms and submissions under an unpublished fair-use policy. |
| Setup | Point form action at your endpoint. Works with plain HTML. | Build in their editor, then embed or share the hosted link. |
| Submission storage | Stored, searchable, exportable as CSV or JSON. | Stored in their dashboard. |
| Fan-out per submission | Email, Slack, Discord, Telegram and webhooks from one submission. | Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Zapier, Make and webhooks, all included free. |
| Conditional routing | Route on field values to different destinations per rule. | Conditional logic and calculations control form flow, not delivery routing. |
| Delivery log | Per-destination status, response and retry history. | No per-destination delivery log documented. |
| Spam filtering | Honeypot, Turnstile, rate limits and an AI classifier that learns from your marks. | Not specifically documented as a form-level feature. |

Moving from Tally
Decide what you actually need
If Tally's free tier already covers your volume and you like its integrations, there is little reason to move. Consider WebForms if you need conditional routing or a delivery log for what's failing silently.
Export your submissions
Download your submission history from Tally before changing anything.
Point your form (or Tally's webhook) at your endpoint
A plain HTML form's action attribute, or Tally's own webhook integration, both work as a source for WebForms.
Add destinations and routing
Configure email, Slack, Discord, Telegram or a webhook, and add routing rules if different answers should go to different places.
Try it without deciding anything
The free plan includes 300 submissions a month, unlimited forms, email delivery, stored submissions and spam filtering, with no card required and no expiry. Point one form at it and keep Tally running on the others until you are convinced.
Questions
No, for most use cases. Tally's free tier is unlimited forms and submissions under fair use, which beats any metered plan on price. WebForms is worth it specifically for routing rules and a delivery log Tally does not build.
Yes. Point Tally's webhook integration at a WebForms endpoint to add Discord, Telegram, conditional routing and a delivery log on top of Tally's free form building.
They do not publish a hard number. If your volume is unpredictable and you need a documented, contractual quota instead, that is one reason to consider a metered plan.
No. Our free plan is metered by monthly submissions rather than unlimited under fair use.
