The SurveyMonkey alternative for forms that go more than one place

SurveyMonkey's plans meter responses per year, priced for market research and structured surveys. WebForms meters submissions per month, priced for contact and lead forms with fan-out and routing.

Start freeSee pricing

SurveyMonkey is a survey platform, and the pricing reflects that: response quotas are counted per year rather than per month, tiers are named around analysis depth (Advantage, Premier) rather than form complexity, and a large part of the product - statistical significance testing, crosstabs, thematic analysis, an audience panel of 335 million people - is research tooling, not form delivery.

For a straightforward contact, lead or application form, that research depth is mostly unused, and the response-per-year quota (15,000/year on their most-popular Individual Advantage plan works out to roughly 1,250/month) is a different shape of limit than most form-backend comparisons. Notification options are a fixed integration list rather than conditional routing, and there is no per-destination delivery log.

WebForms is not a survey tool and does not try to be - no statistical significance testing, no research panel. What it does is take a submission from a form you built and store it, fan it out to five destination types at once, route it conditionally by field value, and log every delivery attempt, priced by monthly submissions rather than yearly responses.

When to stay with SurveyMonkey

Switching has a real cost. These are the cases where we would not bother.

Moving from SurveyMonkey

  1. Decide what you actually need

If you rely on SurveyMonkey's research features, keep it for that and use its export or webhook options to feed WebForms for extra destinations. If it is really just a contact form, replace it with plain HTML.

  2. Export your responses

Download your response history from SurveyMonkey before changing anything.

  3. Build or point your form at your endpoint

A plain HTML form's action attribute works directly. For a genuine survey you still want SurveyMonkey for, use its export options rather than trying to replicate skip logic here.

  4. Add destinations and routing

Configure email, Slack, Discord, Telegram or a webhook, and add routing rules if different answers should go to different places.

Try it without deciding anything

The free plan includes 300 submissions a month, unlimited forms, email delivery, stored submissions and spam filtering, with no card required and no expiry. Point one form at it and keep SurveyMonkey running on the others until you are convinced.

Questions

Not for research. SurveyMonkey's statistical tooling, audience panel and survey logic are a different product category. WebForms is a fit if what you actually have is a contact, lead or application form rather than a research survey.
