Shopify enquiries in Slack, with the product attached
A Liquid section with a plain form posts wholesale enquiries, pre-order requests or product questions to a Slack channel, with hidden fields that carry the product and page the customer was looking at. No app subscription. Slack delivery is on Pro and Agency.
Setting it up
01Add a section with the form
In the theme editor, open Edit code and add the section below. The hidden fields are filled by Liquid, so each Slack message says which product the question was about.
sections/product-enquiry.liquid<form action="https://send.webforms.to/wft_your_key" method="POST"> <p hidden><input name="_gotcha" tabindex="-1" autocomplete="off"></p> <input type="hidden" name="product" value="{{ product.title | escape }}"> <input type="hidden" name="page" value="{{ request.path | escape }}"> <label for="enquiry-email">Email</label> <input id="enquiry-email" name="email" type="email" required> <label for="enquiry-message">Question</label> <textarea id="enquiry-message" name="message" required></textarea> <button type="submit">Ask about this product</button> </form>02Route it to the right channel
Add a Slack destination for the channel your ops or sales team watches. With routing rules, wholesale enquiries can go to one channel and product questions to another from the same form.
What is different about Shopify and Slack
Escape everything Liquid prints
Product titles contain quotes and ampersands. Without the escape filter a title like Tom's "Classic" Tee breaks the value attribute and the field arrives truncated, so every hidden field above uses it.
It does not replace the store's own contact page
Shopify's built-in contact form still handles its own page. This is for the forms that form cannot do, like a wholesale application or a product question that needs to reach a channel rather than one inbox.
