Mailto link generator

Type the parts, get a correctly encoded link. The encoding is the whole trick: spaces, line breaks and special characters in a subject or body have to be percent-encoded or the link breaks in some mail clients, and hand-writing that is how most broken mailto links happen.

Enter a recipient address to generate the link.

When a mailto link is the wrong tool

A mailto link hands the conversation to whatever mail client the visitor has configured. On a personal laptop that's fine. On a locked-down work machine, a shared computer, or a phone where the default mail app was never set up, the link opens nothing and the message is lost - and you will never know it happened.

The other cost is spam: an address published in a link is trivially scraped. If you'd rather keep the address private and actually know when someone tried to reach you, a small contact form that sends to your email does the same job without publishing the address at all. Our free plan covers 300 messages a month.

If you do want the address public but harder to scrape, the email obfuscator is the companion tool.
